Circle of Love
An earlier painting when Lawson was skin and bone, tube fed and still being hoisted from bed to wheelchair. It came together in the most heartwarming way when Lawson's friends decided to make his 2014 birthday one to remember. They arrived bearing gifts; a decorated toolbox full of paints and brushes, with handmade nature stencils, a stretched canvas and a table top easel. They set up paints and canvas, handed Lawson a paintbrush and the end result became Circle of Love. Someone did a head count and made the connection that Lawson had painted the same number of circles on canvas as people in the room. Our neighbour called by and said, "Paint a circle for me too Laws!" It was mind blowing at the time to see Lawson comprehend Dean's request and paint another circle, showing a marked improvement in his capabilities. There was so much love in the room that day. Forever thanks to Anne, Cam, Jordan, Vaughan and Christian for making it happen.
